Managing Director and Chief Pensions Officer at Santander UK

Antony is Managing Director and Chief Pensions Officer at Santander UK, where he is responsible for the financial and operational management of their multi-award winning UK pension scheme, one of the largest schemes in the country. He has been there since July 2012.

He is a highly experienced and motivated in the fields of investment, pension, insurance and wider. He is also a professional business adviser who has operated at the highest levels of business and government internationally. He is a successful business developer and product innovator and has considerable legal knowledge and experience and has been instrumental in Santander winning the following awards:

Mark Fawcett

Chief Investment Officer at National Employment Savings Trust

Mark is Chief Investment Officer at NEST. He has been an investment manager for the last 28 years and has led the investment team at NEST since 2008.

He has managed money at a variety of institutions. At Gartmore Mark was head of Japanese equities while at American Express Asset Management International, he was Chief Investment Officer. Before joining PADA, Mark was a Partner at the boutique investment manager Thames River Capital LLP.

Mark has an MA from Oxford University and an MSc from London Business School.

Paul Mitchell

Paul is the Fintech lead for PwC in South Africa. He is focused on helping incumbent firms and startup fintechs to work together to create new value.

Paul has 20 years consulting experience in large firms, in boutique strategy firms and as an independent consultant. He has worked in several industries in the UK and South Africa, and has focused for the last 15 years on financial services. His previous roles include Director of a middleware company working in financial services and telecoms.

Richard Foster

Professional Non- Executive Director / Corporate Governance Specialist

Richard currently operates an independent consultancy, specialising in corporate governance and serves as a professional Independent Non-Executive Director in various companies including regulated entities within the financial services industry both in South Africa and abroad.

He has been extensively involved in various corporate governance initiatives and has participated as a speaker and panelist in various international corporate governance forums over the years. He has co-edited certain sections of the well-known publication “Corporate Business Administration” and has co-authored articles in leading international academic law journals.

In addition to his current professional non-executive directorships, Richard acts as:

  • Founding (and still active) member of CRISA (Code for Responsible Investing in Southern Africa)
  • Member of the King Committee on Corporate Governance and member of King IV Task Team currently drafting King IV
  • Recent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA)

Sonja Kellen

Director of Global Retirement Benefits for Microsoft Corporation

Sonja Kellen is the Director of Global Retirement Benefits for Microsoft Corporation. Here she is responsible for the financial wellness, global retirement plan strategy as well as governance for supplemental retirement plans in over 40 countries. She also oversees benefits design and structure for acquired benefits and benefits portfolios to their 3000 retail employees spanning 5 countries.

Over the last 18 years, Sonja has worked as a recordkeeper and consultant, as well as within corporate benefits where she has designed and administered both qualified and non-qualified defined contribution plans within the US and internationally.

Sonja holds the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP). Sonja has degrees in Speech Communication and Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Collective investments are traded at ruling prices and can engage in borrowing and scrip lending.
