Sanlam Duck Derby

The Cause

Sanlam Investments is hosting its Second Annual Duck Derby to raise funds for the Bonnie-People Project – a community development organisation that we have adopted as part of our social upliftment initiative. All proceeds will go towards assisting the Bonnie-People Project in funding the feeding scheme, day care facility and youth programmes that it runs to assist the inhabitants, particularly the children, of the settlement of Bonnievale.

Together we believe we can raise R100 000 for this worthy cause. To get more information on the Bonnie-People Project please visit

How the Race Works

Individuals and corporations purchase a ticket with a unique number.

Each unique number is attached to a duck that is released down the river on the day of the event.

The winning individual duck wins a cash prize of R5000 and the winning corporate duck wins R5000 to donate to a charity of their choice in the Robertson Wine Valley.

Individual ducks cost R100 and corporate ducks cost R1000. Donations below R100 can also be made.
